What you
will need:
- 60% rubbing alcohol
- 10% of aloe vera gel
- 30% of water
- At least 5 drops of essential oils (lemon, rose, etc.)
- Small spay bottle (or large depending on what you have on hand)
With the outbreak of COVID-19, it is important to stay safe. Social distancing, washing
or sterilizing your hands, etc. Here I have come up with a simple way of staying
safe. This spay can be put into a small spray bottle in your car, backpack, or
handbag if you need to go and get essentials while in self-isolation.
IMPORTANT
TO NOTE: Please do not use this spray all the time. The thing with hand
sanitizers is that they get rid of most bacteria on your hands which is good,
but it also gets rid of good bacteria as well. It also strips the skin of its
natural oils and it becomes dry, so it is really important to only use this spray
when you really need to. It really is your – “I don’t have the time nor want to go
into that public bathroom and wash my hands spray”, or even “ew, supermarket trollies".
Also note
that this is not something you want to use if you have sensitive skin or eczema
as it can dry out your skin, however, adding the aloe and essential oils does
help keep those oils in or replaces them in some way.
1. Depending on the size of your bottle
you need to work out how much to put in which. Be mindful that if you put in
too much of the rubbing alcohol it will be too strong and cause your skin to dry out
faster. Slightly different with water, but that just means it won’t be as
effective.
2. Add rubbing alcohol, aloe vera gel, and water into your spray bottle and give it a good shake.
3. Add in your 5 drops of essential
oils, I love lemon personally because I do like the smell of traditional
sanitizer smell. But it is totally up to you on what works best. You can also
mix essential oil smells, for example, Bergamot and lemon is a good mix (2 drops
bergamot and 3 drops lemon).

Hope that
you are all staying safe during this time. If you don’t need to go out, please
stay at home. And perhaps use this time to try new things, read new material,
play new games or Netflix and chill.
Stay safe
