Some of our contributors also participate in another zine that highlight Black women characters in comics. In From the Storm fanzine is for and by Black women featuring original artwork, interviews and cultural criticism. The name pays homage to the most mainstream Black woman in comics, Storm from the X-Men, but the name is also about finding refuge. As Black womxn fans we have unique perspectives that are often silenced and discouraged in mainstream outlets. In From the Storm zine is a shelter from the storm; a place for Black womxn to gather, learn and discuss our nerdom.
